Small Group Interaction:
A Celebrate Recovery Leader facilitates an open share time within the small group
context. Guidelines are enforced to ensure "safety" and confidentiality.
We open the door to our recovery by sharing our experiences, strength and hope with
one another. We learn to take hold of the freedom Christ has paid for. Healing takes
place in the context of Christian community through a time of sharing.
Note: We presently have only one women’s small group and one men’s small group covering any of the following issues.
Chemical Dependency:
If you find that you cannot quit drinking or using entirely, even when you honestly want
to, or if you have little control over the amount you consume, you are probably an
alcoholic and/or an addict. If that is the case, you may be suffering from a problem
which only a spiritual solution will conquer.
Codependency/Addictions:
For those struggling with the compulsion to rescue and take care of others, the
unhealthy use of love and relationships as a means of achieving worth and those
who have difficulty setting boundaries. It is a place where group members learn
to express their own needs and wants in healthy ways.
Dysfunctional Family/Childhood Hurts/Broken Relationships:
For those who grew up or live in a family that seems defined by tension and crisis and
those who have unresolved hurts from their childhood. This group provides a safe place
to share and join in a journey toward healing and recovery.
Emotional, Physical, Sexual Abuse:
For those who have endured past abuse. Recovery includes healing from the traumas done
to us at some time in our past as well as healing from the influence these past
experiences continue to have on our lives.
Recovery from Anger, Fear, Depression:
For those who struggle with anger, fear, and/or depression as a first response to
problems of any size. This group focuses on managing God-given emotions in constructive
ways.
Recovery from Hurts/Broken Relationships:
For those struggling with unresolved hurts and/or the pain of broken relationships.
Recovery includes healing from the hurts of the past and from the influence these hurts
continue to have on our lives.
Recovery from Sexual Addiction:
For those that are struggling from the effects of sexual impurity and its devastating
consequences. If you are having problems with pornography, an immoral thought life or
your worth being connected to your sexual behaviour then this is the group for you. We
will work together making ourselves accountable to each other to strive for what sexual
purity looks like through God's eyes.
