Dreamers' Dreams God's Dreams given to His People for His Glory: "My dream is to see a Crisis Pregnancy Centre at BBC. This Centre would also offer help to those suffering from post-abortive syndrome. I see this as an outreach to the City of Brampton." "Like Nehemiah’s dream to build a wall, I have a dream, not to build a wall, but a web of small growth groups. By starting with one group at BBC and then as God makes a success of the one group, we look for direction to start another group in another church. These groups would be called "PINS" – People In Need, People In Service. This group would actively be serving peoples’ needs no matter what they are and who they are serving." "My dream is that pastors or others from our church become guest speakers at other denominations and through this maybe more people will understand what it is to live a life of obedience to Christ. Opening our hearts to everyone could help bring cohesion among Christians in a world of very trying times." "My dream is to see Bramalea Baptist Church on television. We will have a top notch video production facility that can be used for taping live worship services as well as a studio for producing interview, concept and other resource video materials. My dream is that we will have a technical training institute that runs in conjunction with the worship arts training. Training courses will be provided in all major areas of technology including sound reinforcement, lighting design, video production, and the software and hardware tools that make these areas thrive on the cutting edge of technology. Through these courses technicians will be equipped to be the best that they can possibly be to the honour of God. My dream is to have a coffee house type concert/outreach event in the youth auditorium on a regular basis. Different styles of music and artists would perform to appeal to different age groups. The quality of the performance/sound would be such that you would always feel comfortable inviting friends." "My dream is to see a support group for parents of wayward or prodigal teens or adult sons and daughters; a place to meet weekly for a time of prayer and encouragement; a place to share freely without reproach or condemnation; a place to see God at work bringing the wayward back into the fold." My dream is … "that we would have a career centre where students, adults and newcomers in the community could come for help and assistance; and that our college students would be a powerful and visible force for change in our church community and the community at large" My dream is that the "Drums (be) mic'd up for a top notch professional sound, in balance with everything else, and set up regularly so that all drummers can participate at a similar level." "I dream of a house of prayer, where the presence of the only true and Holy living God frequents, a place where miracles happen. A place where hearts worship God in spirit and in truth to overflowing." A weekday meeting where serious Christians worship a living serious God with much love and liberty." "My dream is to set up an orphanage center in Ethiopia for children who have lost their father and mother; to provide food, shelter, health, clothing and education. My dream became clearer and confirmed when we learned from Amos a few months ago." "There are so many people here in my neighbourhood who may not have heard the Gospel, (my dream is) that they may seek God. I want to tell people in the neighbourhood the good news of what God has done for them. I want to do this by leaving at each house down a street (and eventually, the whole neighbourhood) little bags that include a newsletter from BBC inviting them to come out, and one or two copies of a material that explains what God has done for us, with a phone number of people they can contact to talk about what it says in the Gospel material that we give or about church." "I dream of us being a church that is so consumed by the beauty and wonder of our Saviour, that no expression of worship is deemed too elaborate, costly or excessive, and that no God-breathed effort to evangelize our world is considered too costly in time, effort or resources I Dream of a Prayer Centre... an Arboretum, with trees and plants, sky lights and glass walls ... cubicles for small groups of 2 or 3 plus a large room for prayer gatherings of 20 or 30. I see flags from the nations of the world in this Prayer Centre and dream of people coming and going, 24 hours a day, praying for the church, for our city, our nation, our world. I dream of multiple worship services ... 3 ... 4 ... 5 ... perhaps adding divergent styles to better reach more of our community for Christ, while championing culturally diverse expressions in our communication arts … Indian ... Caribbean ... African ... Asian ... weaving the sounds of the nations who worship with us, into our expressions of praise, as well as our evangelism. I dream of reaching, for Christ, the professional artists who call this city home, and at the same time, training up the beginner, so the church is bringing along those who will lead it's worship and outreach, children through seniors, highly skilled and beginner. I dream of seeing preaching, visual arts, dramatic arts, musical arts ... working together in a powerful, harmonious, compelling way… I long that we be a place where people are encountering Jesus, in the Word and in Worship … where people are healed, where mighty steps of faith are taken, and where God’s presence is so thick, that when the lost step through the door they literally cry out, "Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place." I dream of bringing songwriters and poets together in a workshop kind of environment, where they could share their works and works in progress, learn from one another, grow in their craft, and offer the well-developed and timely products of this process for broader church use." "My dream is to help form a group for people needing development in life skills (organization, financial planning, food preparation, etc.) so that they will be more free with their time, money, skills, etc. to in turn help others and serve God." "My dream is one that will only work with other "dream joiners" and people with a similar passion - the passion to help others and yourself, achieve health and fitness. I feel that my body is a gift and my good health is a privilege, not to be taken for granted. The body is often referred to as a temple in the Bible, and the temple is a holy place. So why not make the temple a place of beauty inside and out. Can God not be glorified from the dedication I show in the care of my body? This is the responsibility I have from God, and I believe most Christians feel the same way but are not motivated except by pleading from there doctors instead of the pleading from the spirit inside of them. I would not put physical health above spiritual health, but what you do physically does impact you spiritually. I have a dream that includes support groups, workout activities, seminars, meal plans, prayer and devoting time and energy to THE ONLY BODY WE WILL EVER BE GIVEN” (in this world). "I've recently got caught up in watching the T.V. show, "Extreme Home Makeovers" and I love watching the reaction of the people when they see their new home. Not just the reaction to the physical structure of the home but also their reaction to the designers and their appreciation to the T.V. network, ABC. After watching an episode one evening my wife and I got talking about what a ministry that show is to people and how incredible it would be for us as a church to be able to help people in a similar way. I'm not thinking of gutting someone’s house and rebuilding it in a week (although that would be fun), I'm thinking of maybe a single mother who needs a baby room in her home or someone who has been confined to a wheelchair and needs a ramp built. And not just for people in our church but more for people in our community so that this can be an outreach to them. In thinking through this I was reminded of Matthew 25:40 were Jesus says, "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'" So, to sum it up, my dream is to have a team of people from our church who would use the home renovation, construction and decorating skills that God has given us to provide for the needs of the people in our community and that through meeting these needs, people would seek out the God that we serve." "I dream of a church where people of all ages and backgrounds enthusiastically worship God and are not concerned about the style of their worship, only the object of their worship." "My dream is to let God use me from the trauma I have been through, the addiction I am in recovery for and help people help themselves and bring them to Jesus, to free them from the emotional prison they keep themselves in, to help them share the secrets that keep them from God, Lord I want to HELP, I've been there! "Our "Big Dream" is that Canada would become a nation with an insatiable passion for God's righteousness, resulting in a great revival across our great land that completely transcends political and cultural borders and that all of Christ's believers would passionately pray for God's hand in a revival so that Jesus would be proclaimed, God would be glorified and the evil influences in our nation would be defeated in this present generation. He shall have dominion "from the great river to the ends of the earth" (Joshua 1:3-5). May he also have dominion "a mari usque ad mare" - "from sea to sea". Let's invite God to a great work in Canada...for His glory." “The dream that I believe God has given me is to begin or be part of an outreach ministry that helps to equip God's people; teaching/warning of false teaching, cults, modern day movements with erroneous and unbiblical ideologies that only mislead Christians and thus detract from the Glory of God.” “My dream is to start a sports ministry that would reach out to the single parent families and the youth who have no place to turn to for positive male role models. I would like to see other men in the church get involved with this ministry to help train new leaders and mentor the youth in the church.” “I just recently started a new job in Toronto. What I was not prepared for was walking past the homeless people on the streets. I saw many people walking by the homeless as if they were invisible. I, on the other hand, was very, very disturbed. I couldn't just walk past; I saw the people on the streets as Jesus’ people and feel very much compelled to do something about it. I asked myself "what would Jesus do in this situation?" I don't know if I am a dream joiner or not. But hopefully, there are others like me and the support of Bramalea Baptist Church to make this dream take flight.” “My Big Dream is to use my writing skills and my experiences with addiction, codependency and bipolar disorder to educate Christians about these challenges in the life of a Christian, and to educate non-Christians about the healing power of Christ in dealing with them.” “My dream is to have a transitional home – for homeless women or women coming from a jail background. This would be a safe place for them to learn the life skills and practical skills required to re-integrate them into society. Each woman would be assessed and a contract would be agreed upon. We would use resources already available (ie. St. Leonard’s House, Elizabeth Frye Society and hopefully have an in-house counsellor).” “God has given me the dream and the passion to develop a Divorce Recovery Ministry and present it to separated and divorced people, in churches of all denominations, so that His love can bring healing and wholeness into their broken lives – just as His love did in my life! I believe that NOW is God’s timing to expand this ministry and take it further along the road! The Lord has already prepared the map for us to follow! We’ll be needing many ‘Dream Joiners’ as He lights our path and leads us into mission fields of His choosing!
My dream is … “especially for the timid - a connection for new believers that are falling through the gap - from adults who just walk in to teenagers and college age children of these adults who have been in church for a week to two years and still have not connected and feel they are somehow not part of the rest of the church. Perhaps a one on one mentorship as simple as just giving out a phone number for questions arising throughout the year or someone to attend functions with at church - or extremely basic non-threatening Bible study that is STRESSED to all, that it is for people who know nothing of the Bible or very little. This would make them feel comfortable knowing they don't have to know anything and everyone else is the same - and someone who doesn't speak the christian lingo to lead it - in a cell group setting - much smaller setting than Alpha and a real Bible study to start them on their road. I know the church is doing its best but there are some that still are not connecting and every new person should be given a connection.” My dream is … “to be a prayer warrior for the church, to pray for its needs and the need of its people. I want to establish a Pastors’ prayer Partners Ministry (if it doesn't exist already, if it exists I want to join), to pray for the Pastors and Worship team before each service so that God's anointing will be upon them. I want to be able to activate a prayer chain for any emergency or urgent prayer needs of the people. Bramalea Baptist Church will be known as a House of Prayer. Publish a list of telephone numbers and email addresses so that anyone in need can call or email for prayer.” My dream is … “to write a children’s book and illustrate it – I was thinking more along the lines of my own personal story but God has changed that dream to one of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and a story for children in the 10-12 year age group. There is an endless amount of information available for knowledgeable adults but nothing aimed specifically at children. If a book such as this could help stop one FAS pregnancy it would be worth it, all others would be a bonus and a wonderful gift from God. I am trusting God and knowing that if He has brought this dream to me He will work all things to His good. I ask for your prayers and if any of you can offer any ideas or have children with FAS or even ADHD I would love to hear from you.” "The Lord has given me a dream and a desire to edify the body of Christ through music! He has allowed me to write some songs and I seek an avenue that they might be made public and be useful!" I'd love to start a daughter church to Bramalea. 10 families going to the north-west part of Brampton and trying to grow, all the while supporting the vision of Bramalea Baptist, just doing it from a new building. If anything I love always to cook and if that can anyway be of service to the Church, I'm game.” “My dream is to see BBC become a place where children with behavioural/social problems (ADD/ADHD etc.) can feel that they belong... a place where expectations are in line with what they are able to do (especially when off their medication)...a place that will come alongside them and acknowledge the unique challenges they face...a place that will help them develop strategies to cope with everyday life...all the while pointing them to God, praying for and with them so they may experience God's love in their lives...that they may know He is real.” “I dream of becoming the person, wife, mother and friend that God wants me to be, through the support of our church home. "The dream I was given was that of a ministry to men that would be visible, accessible and purposeful. It would provide an entry point for new Christians and new people to the church and would be intentional in discipling men to assume their responsibility as the spiritual leaders in their homes. I also saw something like "hobby groups" where guys could get together on a regular basis with a few other men from the church while doing something they enjoy. (golf, fishing, woodwork, etc.) This could be a useful environment to invite an unsaved friend or co-worker to participate in a common interest with some other Christian men. That small group setting could also be used as a vehicle for accountability, one on one discipleship and mentoring". "My dream is for BBC to be a place where people know and care about each other because of working side by side within a ministry. They feel passionate and excited in their area of ministry because their gifts and talents are being used; they feel encouraged, supported and championed by each other, leaders and pastors; they feel connected because of the bond of friendships made with others working in the same ministry area. In my dream no ministry area lacks for people to get involved to do the work which means ministry areas work to their optimum in encouraging people in their Christian journeys..." "I heard the message today about dreamers and willing to share with my abilities. Well, I have developed an interactive educational website that can help further the ministry of our Lord. You can insert any courses in it so that each student or fellow member of the Church or the "iCAN" program log to it and study his or her assigned courses or study material and solve its associated questions in a simple user-friendly way, while being followed up with the instructor through the various means of communication available. I am using it for a Bible college in my home Country as well." My dream is ... "to have an outreach in the community using youth manpower and skilled trades people in the church to help single parents, and those that are less fortunate, and those that are new to the country, or seniors that are not capable of doing the work themselves. From hanging pictures, to painting, to yard work and clean up, to minor renovations. There are many people in our community that could use the help and with a large enough team and some relevant ground rules this could be a significant outreach to those in need in our community." "Using precast concrete construction (which is faster and cheaper than conventional construction) to provide homes for those in need. Whether it be Habitat for Humanity-type building projects or overseas building (refugees, displaced people or the very poor) I feel I have been given this idea for a new type of construction technology to help people for God." My dream is ... "to help support Matt & Laurie fill there dream of being a Group Leader with Camp China and take Christian literature and minister in China for six weeks this summer." "It is my dream to set up a mission that will help struggling women within our own community. It is my dream that we could set up a support system that would help out young women within the community whether single and pregnant, a single mother, or just a woman in need of a friend. The purpose of my dream would be to seek out women who need help both spiritually and financially, and offer a non threatening sense of support." My dream is ... "to have a group for Special Needs children, teens or adults, much like the Friendship Club. There are many Special Needs individuals in our church with no programs for them to attend. Also this could be a positive relief for parents and caregivers for those who have Special Needs people in their care. These individuals need support and a Christ centered environment/program." My dream is ... "an Integration Centre for All Newcomers, with an actual facility that is manned by church members and open to the community. A place where our new neighbours could come to get different kinds of needs met. Where they can be encouraged, prayed for, fed, and helped in various ways. Where we can help them communicate with family back home, and search for jobs, through the internet. Where we can teach them how to adapt and cope with a new country, a new culture, a new climate, sometimes a new language. Where their children can be tutored and taught good values. Above all where they can feel the love of Jesus, expressed by His people, and grasp the truth of His word through our deeds." "To see each individual in our local body in fervent prayer for family, friends, neighbours, and work colleagues to be touched by the love of Christ and open to His Spirit and His Word." "I have a dream ... to go out into the world and preach the good news to all who are lost and broken. To bring hope to people's lives and to live and walk only by faith. I have a dream to be God's humble servant as a missionary." "My dream for the church is that everyone who has given their heart and life to Jesus will fall so deeply in love with Him that He is their purpose, focus and passion. My dream for those without Jesus is that God would use BBC to reach his children who are without Him in Brampton and the GTA. I dream of thousands of people coming to faith in Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit and the active participation of the believers who are in Love with Jesus. I dream that these new believers will be welcomed, taught and connected in community so that their faith is contagious and no one will be able to stop the work of Almighty God. This is my dream." "My Dream is for an ongoing outreach in the form of a "Between Jobs Ministry" at Bramalea Baptist Church, to assist in all areas of a person's life as they are involved in a job search. The areas of Ministry involved would be: prayer, encouragement, career counselling/brainstorming, helping families cope with job loss, networking/job leads, coordinating with government programs, coordinating financial counselling, resume review/assistance, and assistance with emergency financial needs, support of spouses." "My dream is that our church will be excited about worship! We won't be afraid to sing, to shout for joy and dance for the Lord. My dream is that we won't wait for the worship leader to say "let's stand and worship" because we will already be standing. The worship leader will have to beg us to sit down."
