Kids Coping with Bereavement: Session for Ages 6 - 12: Starting Date: To Be Announced Facilitators:
COPING stands for "Caring for Other People in Grief" Kids Coping is a safe place to find Compassion, Understanding and Encouragement in a program designed specifically for children 6-12 yrs. who are experiencing a loss through the death of someone they love. We have based our program on the premise of Dr. Alan D. Wolfelt that states "If you are old enough to love, you are old enough to mourn", and have seen the difference in these young lives when they are given permission to begin their own personal grief journey. We highly recommend that grieving parents/family attend an Adult Group which discusses similar topics that will make the journey easier as you each learn to deal with your grief in your own way and be able to be helpful to each other, while receiving support not only from your own groups but also each other. If you would like further information regarding the start dates of the next children's group, or if we can be of assistance to you in any way, please feel free to contact us at 905-451-6088 with inquiries. Thank you for looking for assistance for your child in this difficult time of their life. This program has been developed to help kids come to terms with their loss, aiding them to work through their feelings. The group is limited in numbers. For more information or to register, please contact the church office at 905 451-6088 ext 260 |
